Family Care Home Services

• Maintain   records in accordance with NC DHHS Adult Care Licensure Section  standards.
• Prepare for annual inspections and respond to complaint investigations.
• Ensure  documentation meets Medicaid and Innovations Waiver requirements if applicable.

• Provide  in-service education on infection control, fall prevention, seizure      protocols, and emergency response.
• Delegate nursing tasks to unlicensed staff per 21 NCAC 36.0221, ensuring      supervision and documentation.
• Support  staff in understanding resident diagnoses and care plans.

• Ensure  safe medication administration, including proper documentation on  MARs.
• Train and validate Medication Aides under NC Board of Nursing delegation  rules.
• Perform  medication audits and reconcile prescriptions with pharmacy  records.

 Conduct  initial and quarterly nursing assessments for each resident.

• Develop  and update Individual Health Care Plans (IHCPs) based on resident      needs and physician orders.
• Monitor  chronic conditions, vital signs, and changes in physical or mental status.

• Participate  in care plan meetings and coordinate with physicians, therapists,      and social workers.
• Educate residents and families on health conditions, hygiene, and wellness.
• Advocate  for residents’ rights, safety, and dignity.
